Review the TapSpares UK Franke Minerva Compatible Replacement Water Boiler

I fitted this boiler a year ago and it is working perfectly. One of the greatest benefits is that it is de-scaleable. We live in a hard water area, I have just run the deep clean cycle and it is running as new.
Our old Franke boiler did last about ten years, so not bad, but like other reviewers I had to replace the PRV/Tundish twice. Eventually when the Franke element shorted out the TapSpares replacement was much cheaper.
The product seems very well engineered and easy to fit. All the parts were provided and although it takes up space in the cupboard this is acceptable. Help Desk were very useful in a couple of questions regarding installation.

I would definitely recommend this unit for anyone installing a boiling tap.

Purchased this to replace a Franke Minerva unit that was continually failing and eventually no spare parts were available.
Everything that I needed to carry out the replacement was in the box, right down to the last washer!
A simple DIY job to do if you follow the enclosed instructions. The boiler has been in place for 5 days now with no issues at all. Although the boiler is not designed to fit in the kick space, this minor disadvantage is outweighed by the build quality.

Solidly made.  Easy to install.  Replaceable hoses and can be descaled.  All of this is thoughtful in a way that Franke's original simply wasn't.  The original was bloody expensive and the performance fell off a cliff over five years.  The overflow valve had to be replaced three times and the tank couldn't be descaled.  Annoying!  Flow slowed to a trickle despite two Franke filters a year at forty five quid a pop.  Additional PRV had to be fitted to prevent constant drip into tundish.  New tundish as well, twice.
This product in comparison feels simple, classy, took less than an hour to get in even with a spot of remade pipework - the regs about overflows have changed.  And: instant success.  Flow is back to very usable rate and is properly scalding.  I recommend this product!
