A leaking, loose or damaged kitchen tap spout doesn't always mean replacing the entire tap. In most cases, the spout can be removed and replaced separately, making it a quick, simple and cost-effective way to restore your tap.

Leaks around the base of the spout are most commonly caused by worn O-rings, while limescale build-up, corrosion or damage to the spout itself can also affect performance. Most kitchen tap spouts are held in place by a small grub screw or retaining nut, allowing the old spout to be removed and a replacement fitted in just a few simple steps. Before installing the new spout, clean the inside of the tap body to remove any limescale or debris, then apply a small amount of silicone grease to the O-rings on the replacement spout to ensure a smooth swivel action and help maintain a reliable, watertight seal. Once the new spout is fully inserted and securely tightened, your tap will be restored without the expense of replacing the complete unit.
