My Kitchen Tap Valve Cartridge Is Stamped SMR
My kitchen tap valve cartridge is marked SMR followed by some numbers e.g 09/20 or 20SMR01 what does this mean?
If your tap valve is marked SMR followed by four digits (for example, SMR 09/20), or SMR sandwiched between digits (for example, 20SMR01) the SMR marking is the manufacturer's identification, confirming the valve manufacturer and indicating that it is a product we most likely stock. The 09/20 or 20/01 marking is the manufacturing date, showing the month and year the valve was produced. Here are examples of both:
The SMR/date marking does not identify the exact valve model or size - the manufacturer prints that on all the various valve cartridges they manufacture. However, tt is an excellent starting point, as it indicates that here at TapSpares UK we stock a suitable replacement.
