Carron Phoenix Alba Tap Brass Bush SP3409 Tap Spare Part
When removing an old tap valve, it is quite common for the brass retaining ring (also known as the bush) to come out attached to the valve. The bush may appear to be firmly stuck to the valve, but it can usually be separated and refitted.
Using Loctite 638 (a WRAS-approved retaining compound), first clean the bush and the inside of the tap valve housing to remove any dirt or moisture. Apply a small amount of Loctite 638 to the bush's external thread, then screw the bush and valve assembly back into the tap.
Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 20 minutes, then carefully unscrew the valve again. The bush should remain securely in the tap body, allowing you to fit your replacement valve as normal.
Important: Only Loctite 638 should be used for this procedure. Other adhesives may not provide the correct bond or may make future maintenance difficult.
If you're still having trouble, don't worry, as you can buy the replacement bushe here.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - There is only one bush on the Hot side of this tap. There is no bush on the cold side.
