A dripping or leaking Franke Athena tap can usually be repaired quickly and easily. If water is dripping from the top of the spout when the tap is turned off, replacing the valves or cartridges should resolve the problem.
If the tap is leaking from the base of the spout, where it joins the tap body, the O-rings will usually need replacing instead.
We also stock a range of replacement Franke Athena spouts and handles, allowing you to replace worn or damaged components and restore your tap without replacing the complete tap.
For an easier installation and smoother operation, we recommend using our silicone grease when replacing valves / cartridges and O-rings.
⚠️ IMPORTANT FRANKE ATHENA VALVE COMPATIBILITYIf you are looking for a valve/cartridge for a Franke Athena tap, please check which valve your tap requires before ordering.
- SP1212 – used on earlier Franke Athena taps
- SP3819 – introduced by Franke in 2013 and used on later Athena taps
Please check your original installation guide or existing valve to confirm whether you require SP1212 or SP3819.
This compatibility note applies to Athena valves/cartridges only.
